3 Best Player Props For Jacksonville State Vs. New Mexico State

  • Tyler Huff has -115 odds to go under his 207.5 passing yard total.
  • Santino Marucci’s passing yard total is 139.5.
  • Tre Stewart’s rushing yard total is 92.5 yards.

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Wednesday features a Conference USA matchup between the Jacksonville State Gamecocks and New Mexico State Aggies. This is nothing short of explosiveness on both sides which leaves plenty of opportunity to take player prop odds at some good value.

Three players whose college football props to focus on include Jacksonville State QB, Tyler Huff, New Mexico State QB, Santino Marucci, and Jacksonville State RB, Tre Stewart.

Santino Marucci Looking For Consistency

Santino Marucci Total Passing Yards

  • Over 139.5 -114
  • Under 139.5 -114

Santino Marucci is making his third consecutive start at QB for New Mexico State after the Aggies benched Parker Awad. In two games starting, Marucci has progressed having gone for 74 yards in Week 4 and 189 yards in Week 5. He is gaining some confidence and consistency with his wide receiver and is in a good spot to progress even more here in Week 6 against a middle-of-the-pack Jacksonville State secondary.

Jacksonville State’s secondary is nothing to write home about. They’re allowing 226.8 passing yards per game this season. Three of five opposing QBs have gone over the 139.5 passing yard mark this season against Jacksonville State. Also, with a whopping 20-point underdog spread up against them, Marucci will be forced to air it out to stay competitive.

Tyler Huff To Lay Back On Passing Game

Tyler Huff Total Passing Yards

  • Over 207.5 -113
  • Under 207.5 -115

Tyler Huff is a running back stuck in a quarterback's body. He has nearly as many rushing attempts (63) as he does passing completions (78) on the season and he leads the team in rushing as well. With him dedicating himself to the run, it will certainly play a factor in his passing game which could lean bettors more towards the under. Huff also isn’t the most explosive passer as he has stayed under 207.5 passing yards in three of five games this season.

It also helps that Jacksonville State is favored by 20 points meaning that if they do take a large lead early, they could back off the pass game even more to run the clock. Take a look at last week’s game against Kennesaw State, the Gamecocks took an early 21-3 lead in the first half and finished with 63 points. Huff only threw for 193 yards in that game and ran for 176 yards and three touchdowns. Overall, all of this supports CFP sportsbooks' case for the slight shade on the under.

Tre Stewart Looking To Stay Hot

Tre Stewart Total Rushing Yards

  • Over 92.5 -113
  • Under 92.5 -115

Tre Stewart has been ramping up as of late, having gone over 92.5 rushing yards in his last two games and is in a phenomenal spot to hit the over once more against a poor New Mexico State run defense. The Aggies are the second-worst in CUSA in terms of rush defense, allowing 233.2 rush yards per game. Each of the last four running backs to face off against NMSU have each topped 110 rushing yards which leaves Stewart’s over as free money.
