AAC Betting Preview: Tulane, Army Defenses Could Force The Under

  • The odds for the point total between Tulane and Army is set at 45.5 points.
  • Tulane and Army have the top two toughest defenses in the AAC.

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army Black Knights and Tulane Green Wave sit at the top of the AAC and will face off Friday Night in the AAC Championship where Tulane is a road favorite to win in West Point.

While this matchup could be too close to call, the best bet for this one on college football prop betting sites comes on the point total. The point total for this one is set at 45.5 points. While this could be considered a low number in college football, bettors should keep in mind that these are the two top defenses in the AAC.

Don’t Trust The Low Point Total, Take The Under

On paper, this game shouldn’t even come anywhere near 45.5 points. Combined, Tulane and Army are allowing just 33.5 ppg to opponents this season. Yes, both offenses are explosive and have crossed 45.5 points multiple times this season, they’ve held opponents in check, especially in each of their most recent games.

Tulane has held three of their last four opponents to six or less points. Army has held two of their last three opponents to just three points each.

Also, both teams are pure run-first teams with Tulane averaging 212.9 rush yards per game and Army at 312.5. Both of which are top-3 in the conference. However, Army is ranked first in rush yards allowed per game while Tulane is fourth.

This should take away each of their explosive ground games which could also result in less points and a slower-paced game. Tulane and Army already play at slower paces with under 67 plays per game for each of them already. That said, fade the high number on college football sportsbooks and take the under.
