Best Bets For Notre Dame Vs. Georgia Sugar Bowl College Football Playoff

  • Gunner Stockton has a 175.5 passing yard total.
  • Jeremiyah Love’s odds for his rushing total are set at 65.5.

NEW ORLEANS – The College Football Playoff quarterfinal between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Georgia Bulldogs brings plenty of betting value on both sides.

While this one might be too close to call with just a 1.5-point spread on college football prop betting sites, we’re taking a look at props for Gunner Stockton and Jeremiyah Love in this one.

Sportsbooks Too High On Gunner Stockton

Gunner Stockton Total Passing Yards

  • Over 175.5 -114
  • Under 175.5 -114

It doesn’t matter what position Stockton is being put in, this is simply just too high of a number to trust for him to go over. Especially on this stage and against one of the top passing defenses in the country, there is just zero confidence in this number.

Looking more into the Notre Dame defense, they rank third in the country allowing just 162.3 passing yards per game this season. On the season, the Irish have held eight of 13 opposing QBs under 175.5 passing yards.

On the Georgia side of things, with Beck out and Stockton only attempting 32 passes this season, it’s hard seeing the Dawgs not roll out a run heavy approach. Backing that claim even more is that Trevor Etienne’s rush yard total is set at 85.5 yards which is a number that he’s only gone over three times this season.

It also doesn’t help that Georgia’s top three pass catchers, Arian Smith, Dominic Lovett, and Dillon Bell all have low receiving yard totals of 40 yards or less.

Don’t Be Fooled By Jeremiyah Love’s Breakout

Jeremiyah Love Rushing Yard Total

  • Over 65.5 -130
  • Under 65.5 +100

This is a great spot for some plus money on college football sportsbooks in fading Jeremiyah Love against his rushing yard total.

Addressing the elephant in the room, yes Love did hit the over in the first round of the playoff with 108 yards, however, he did rip off a 98-yard touchdown which clearly made up the majority of his yards. Without that 98 yard run, Love managed just 10 rush yards on seven carries.

His carries are another area of concern heading into this one as he has seen single digit carries in three of the last five games. Bettors also need to remember that Riley Leonard does take away from Love as he’s gone for 10+ carries in five of the last seven games.

Love also has to deal with a top-35 Georgia run defense that is coming off of an SEC Championship win where they allowed Quintrevion Wisner, a top-50 rusher this season, just 51 yards on 19 carries.
