Ole Miss Overwhelming Duke
To put it simply, Duke is just missing way too many pieces here to be able to keep up with Ole Miss in this one. Mainly, Duke’s starting QB, Maalik Murphy will not be playing as he entered the transfer portal. That leaves sophomore, Henry Belin IV, as the starter who has completed just one pass this season. They’ll also be without their starting running back, Star Thomas.
As for Ole Miss, they’ll get one more game out of their star quarterback, Jaxson Dart, and what looks to be their entire receiving core.
With their full arsenal, Ole Miss should run away with this one without any issues. They are the number one scoring offense in the SEC at 37.5 ppg have the second-ranked defense allowing just 13.9 ppg to opponents. As for Duke, they’re putting up 26.8 ppg on the year which is already 10+ points less than Ole Miss averages.
Getting into the betting numbers, Ole Miss went 7-5 against the spread with an average cover margin of +3.7 points for an average winning margin of 23.6 points. Duke, while holding a respectable 8-3-1 ATS record this season, they failed to cover in two of three games where they were a double digit underdog on college football sportsbooks.
With all taken into account, bettors can confidently roll with Ole Miss on the spread in this one despite the large number.
