Best Bets For South Carolina Vs. Illinois Cheez-It Bowl

  • Odds for Luke Altmyer’s passing yard total are set at 194.5.
  • Nyck Harbor has a 37.5 receiving yard total.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Bettors are in for a treat in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl between the South Carolina Gamecocks and Illinois Fighting Illini as both teams have had limited opt outs which should lead to a fun game with plenty of value across the board.

The betting value on college football prop betting sites here comes on Illinois’ QB, Luke Altmyer, and South Carolina’s sophomore wideout, Nyck Harbor.

Trust Luke Altmyer To Crush Passing Yard Total

Luke Altmyer Passing Yard Total

  • Over 194.5 -115
  • Under 194.5 -115

College football sportsbooks messed up with this one as Altmyer should have absolutely no issues going over 194.5 yards and beyond. He’s done so seven times this season out of 12 games. He’s seen plenty of passing attempts also to finish the season with 26+ attempts in four of his last five games and going over in three of those games.

As for the South Carolina defense, they are solid against opposing QBs allowing them to average just 206.9 passing yards per game, however, four of the last five QBs to go up against them have all crossed 194.5 yards with ease.

Those worried about leading receiver, Pat Bryant, opting out, should look past this as he is the only pass catcher not playing leaving Altmyer with plenty of other options to help hit the over.

Back Nyck Harbor To Get His Opportunities

Nyck Harbor Total Receiving Yards

  • Over 37.5 -115
  • Under 37.5 -115

This is more than low enough of a number to trust Nyck Harbor with, especially with how he’s done with his opportunities as of late. He did start the season slow only going over 37.5 in one of his first five games but has since turned that around hitting the over in each of his last four outings. He has also done so on minimal usage having hit the over in those four games on no more than three catches per game.

Aside from usage, it’s obvious that this bowl game has zero implication for either team meaning it could be an opportunity for both sides to see what they have in younger and up and coming players which Harbor most certainly is. All in all, this is a safe over bet to take.
