MIAMI – The Miami Hurricanes have finally taken a backseat to Clemson on the ACC Championship odds board. Both teams are undefeated in conference play, however, it comes down to the competition of each of them.
Miami had been favorites for the better part of the season until Week 9 when Clemson jumped them as the odds on favorite to win the conference title on college football prop betting sites.

Yes, an undefeated season to this point is impressive, there is no taking that away, however, Miami’s schedule and the outcome of their games in conference play is a bit concerning. The Hurricanes nonconference schedule was extremely weak as it consisted of a down Florida team and three non-power conference teams in Florida A&M, Ball State, and South Florida. All of which they scored 40+ points against.
Once they got to ACC play and the competition ramped up a bit, they’ve struggled. Their first three conference games were all decided by a touchdown or less and had some very questionable late calls fall in their favor and granting them the win.
They then faced their abysmal rival in Florida State where they not only had their lowest scoring total of the season, but their Heisman candidate QB, Cam Ward, had his worst game of the season failing to throw for 250 yards and had no touchdowns.

Clemson’s college football futures, on the other hand, can be trusted and should be taken seriously. After their tough loss to start the season against the then, top ranked Georgia Bulldogs, they’ve been wreaking havoc on their opponents. They’ve won every game since by at least a two touchdown margin and have held four of those six opponents to under three touchdowns as well.
Although Clemson is usually known for their defense, their offense has been relentless having scoring 40+ points in all but one conference game.
While many seem to argue the fact that Clemson has had a similar strength of schedule to Miami, there is some truth to that, however, they are flat out blowing out their opponents, unlike Miami who is allowing them to hang around for close games.
